Support Joud & Her Family in Gaza
United States
Joud is a Palestinian mother from Gaza. The occupation has taken her home, her husband, and many other loved ones from her in this world. She is currently residing in a tent near Khan Younis caring for her three children (3, 5, 7) and the children’s grandmother. Your donation will help support them gain access to food, water, other basics, and evacuation when possible.
“I, Joud, do not know where to begin my speech. Since the seventh of October, the misfortunes have been increasing day after day. My current situation is like my current situation. Any mother wishes for her children to live a safe life, like any Palestinian who lives in the Gaza Strip in the middle of the black hell, in the midst of destruction and blood. We do not find a way to escape and no escape from hunger. And thirst. My condition is like the condition of all Gazans, and you know very well how we live in the midst of black hell. You have seen with your own eyes the size of our tragedies. Our house was bombed, and I lost most of my family members. My husband and most his family were martyred. We cannot find shelter or food. We live in tents. We have tasted all kinds of pain. Please help me, my children, and my husband’s mother. Perhaps the day will come when we can achieve a dream that has become very far away, which is escaping death and hunger. Perhaps it will come, but I cannot leave because of the poverty and helplessness that has been imposed on us without any fault. I heard about this site and found it very difficult to create this account to help me like the rest of our people in the Gaza Strip. Please support me so that I can overcome the hunger and thirst of my children. I do not dream of flying with my children outside the scope of blood and flying remains. To everyone who visits my page, please help me and my children, help us escape from this hell Thank you very much”
Joud’s immediate shopping list: food, drink, winter clothes, shoes, slippers, blankets, and cooking gas. Her ultmate goal is evacuation when the crossing opens. If the prices remain the same (5k per adult, 2.5k per child) this would be close to 18k just to leave. Add in the exchange office fees and we’re looking at having to raise close to 25k for evacuation alone. Due to the loss of her husband and no possible way to make income, most of the funds raised thus far have been used for immediate survival needs. Each dollar raised is one step closer to securing a future where Joud may evacuate to saftey and start to rebuild her life with her children.
Howdy ya’ll. I’m Aiden, a 27yo from the “U.S.” Joud and her family reached out to me over Instagram in August searching for support. At first, like many, I was skeptical- as I had come to see bad actors impersonating Palestinans to extract $ during crisis. After verifying that this was not the case with Joud through conversation and video calls I have been in contact with her regularly. She had a previous campaign on Gofundme, set up by a friend in Belguim- but Gofundme has been witholding the funds and the risk of losing them completely at this point seems inevitable. By her request I have created this campaign to serve as the family’s new fundraising page. All contributions will be wired by myself to Joud’s family in Egypt, who will then transfer the funds to Joud. Due to wire fees this will be done in increments of $1,000. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Email me at [email protected]
Joud and her family have been forcibly displaced by the entity once again, she shares “Since yesterday, my children and I have been running in the street. We are very tired. The situation is difficult and very bad. We left everything [behind].” “Death and fear haunt us at every moment, our nerves are damaged, and my children cry all night about what we are going through. The suffering increases day by day, and missiles are falling on us like rain. Our souls are tired of this life. I swear to God, the animals outside live in more security and life than us.” They now need another tent for shelter, as they have been forced from the remains of their home.
“The tent costs 3,000 shekels. I need more to buy the tent.”
“God is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs, against every oppressor who has no mercy in his heart. We are in the month of Ramadan, and they have no mercy on us from this torment.” Please, be generous so she may secure shelter for them as soon as possible. Thank you
Today, January 4th, is Joud’s second birthday displaced from this war & genocide. I asked her if she will do anything to celebrate and she expressed that in the current conditions it is hard to celebrate anything. Let’s try to make this year slightly better than the last through our support. Gift Joud any amout and some loving birthday wishes, she deserves nothing less. To Joud: My dear friend, you are so kind, itelligent, and resillient. May this day bring you blessings and may this year bring you all you want, need, and more. May your dream of relocating somewhere not under threat of bombardment to rebuild your life with your children come true, and may it be in Canada like you mention so I may come visit you. A million birthday blessings to you <3 -Aiden As per the previous update, Joud and her family are now residing in a more inland area. They are still surviving in conditions that are not suitable for human life. Winter is upon us and each night the temperature in the tent drops to unbareable chills. As I write this the terrible news of 3 Palestinian babies freezing to death from hypothermia is being reported. Joud's three kids continue to become sick because of these conditions. Please continue to support her. Batch #3 of $1,000 has been sent to her relatives in Egypt, it is in transit. Gofundme has still not released the hold on her account so she may end up loosing the funds in her previous campaign on their platform. Please keep her in your thoughts, she is very stressed living under bombardment, in a tent without her husband or home. She tells me often lately she feels ignored. If possible please send her a supportive message on instagram @joudii369 Kylan Scott
